Senior Finance Administrator

This is a new role driven by growth. Management of the usual ledgers such as sales, purchases and cash. And nominal journals to dress the TB ready for management accounting/audit. We wish to automate areas such as payables and expenses to cope with fast growth (Nb not replace the established small team). We seek candidates who are experienced in process change and are willing to work with the wider team to achieve this. We currently use Sage and all options are open on what systems we truly need in the shorter term future.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cash, payables and receivables in collaboration with our existing team of administrators. Monthly journals such as Fixed Asset register, prepaid & accrued and allocations. Maintaining workings for such on a monthly basis to a standard that can just be given to the auditors.
  • Assist the whole team with investor/ external audit information requests.
  • Manage employee expenses and mileage reimbursements for approval.
  • Assist the Heads, CFO and wider team on best process, controls and system improvements. Particularly automation. The company culture is that everyone has a voice. Suggestions from all are very much encouraged.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • AAT level 3 diploma qualification or equivalent
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel (to pivot table level) and Word.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Experience of using modern accounting software is a must. Experience of larger systems and automated portals eg expenses and payables is a plus.
  • Good communication skills, ability to negotiate and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritise when multi-tasking. 
  • Ability to work on own initiative
